Before thinking about the future of your practice, it is important to understand where you stand today. What are the strengths and weaknesses of your practice – and the opportunities and threats that it faces? How are you perceived externally by the outside world and internally by your key players? What are the trends that have shaped your business for the past 3 years and how have they come about?
Colander can provide independent review and analysis, in three different ways:
Internal perceptions surveys
Either with senior teams or with all staff, reviewing what it is like to work in your practice and identifying people’s aspirations for its future.
External perceptions surveys
We talk to your clients, fellow consultants, contractors, industry movers-and-shakers and peer group competitors, to understand your position in the market place as well as your perceived strengths, weaknesses and potential.
Analyses of business trends
Finance, people, client types, services offered and marketing. We recommend that all practices complete the RIBA Business Benchmarking survey which is available free of charge to all Chartered Practices.
This survey is based on the acclaimed Colander Benchmarking Survey of the architectural profession. benchmarking and inter firm comparisons
With up-to-date and collated information about the current state of your practice you will find it much easier to then plan your future.
Business surgeries
Small practices can take advantage of our regular day surgeries, where practices can book one-hour appointments to review specific aspects of their architectural businesses. These surgeries are run in collaboration with Buro Four, Project Managers who run parallel surgeries for project reviews.
